You can make a difference...join us for the Movement March for Michigan and Florida. Let Their Voices Be Heard

For Florida and Michigan
We March on May 31, 2008 at the DNC
On August 26, 1920 Women Ended Their Suffrage & Won the Right to Vote
...some of those women still live
They live in Florida
They live in Michigan
They live to have their voices heard now.
The first women's rights meeting in the United States was held at Seneca Falls, New York, in 1848.
What followed was several decades of a quietly-emerging democratic spirit among women of all races; forming together a unified front for American women.
What a long, tough road it would be to winning the vote for women! Several punches were taken and were it not for a gritty spirit and passion for equality, women would be denied a voice before the 19th Amendment secured women's right to vote in the US.
From the first meeting in Seneca falls more than 70 years would pass.
From the day that women gained the right to have their voices heard, over 80 years would pass before women would experience the opportunity to vote for a Woman on a Presidential ticket.
But now, over 80 years after ending their suffrage, these same women are being stripped of their right to be heard by the DNC.
For the suffering they've endured...
For the weak who cannot enable themselves now...
For those who fought for equality for all women then...
For the strong women of our past, present and future...
For those whose fight and spirit has enabled a woman to run for the office of President of the United States...
WILL YOU MARCH AT THE DNC ON MAY 31, IN THEIR HONOR?
Will you demonstrate and stand with me for those who cannot stand for themselves now?
March in DC on May 31, 2008 at 9 AM

I can't help but find it interesting that a child of the civil rights movement would fight to have any segment of the population excluded from the election selection process.
