As many of you may have heard, there have been many positive developments for our movement these past couple days...we have over 10,000 marchers! With that in mind we have a few items of importance to note below:
1. Most important update: Rally will be held outside the Mariott-Wardman Park Hotel on May 31st, beginning at 7am and going until 3pm.
2. Second most important update: AN NPR reporter filed his story, K. Feldman, and it was sufficiently amazing that we received full coverage on NPR during rush hour today!
3. WomenCount has also agreed to help finance banners and signs for use during the Rally. (If you receive press inquiries as a result of this publicity, please direct them to counteveryvote08@gmail.com, we have a media team designated to speak on behalf of our committee).
Florida Visibility Events
Jim Hannagan briefed us on a series of visibility events and rallies piggy backing Senator Obama's various appearances in Florida this week. For a full list of the remaining events, please contact Jim at jhannagan@floridademandsrepresentation.org. This is particularly important if you know Floridians who would like to participate.
Suggested Slogans/Signs
"Women Count" "50-48=NO YOU CAN'T" "Count our Votes..."
"All voices Heard, All Votes Matter"
Dear Fellow Hillary Supporters
If you believe that the DNC must honor our core democratic principles and enfranchise the people of MI and FL and their respective delegations,
If you believe that Hillary Clinton is best for our party, most likely to win in November and best for our country,
If you believe the contest for the democratic nomination must not end before all of the votes from each State and US Territory have been cast and counted and that nominating conventions, not candidates (or the media), declare the nominee,
If you believe that the media and DNC have underestimated the passion, strength, intensity and determination of women voters and the power of the women's vote,
Then please join us in Washington, D.C. on May 31st, to rally outside the meeting of the Rules and Bylaws Committee. The RBC will make its determination with respect to Michigan and Florida during its May 31 meeting. It is essential that everyone who can meets in Washington that day to rally for our cherished democratic principles, help enfranchise MI and FL and to show that Hillary has equal numbers of passionate, devoted supporters who believe fervently, notwithstanding any math, that she will the better general election candidate and best president. Our purpose is not to divide the party or attack the DNC or Senator Obama. Michigan and Florida, however, in addition to Hillary's strong support nationwide, cannot and must not be dismissed in DNC efforts to unify the party.
The rally will be held outside the Mariott-Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Rd, NW in Washington D.C. on May 31st.. We will meet at 7am and rally until the meeting concludes (or longer, if you prefer).
You can register to attend the rally at www.hillaryresponders.com/counteveryvote.
Once you register, the a state/regional coordinator from the Committee to Count Every Vote will contact you regarding travel arrangements (buses will be available and we can provide a list of recommended hotels; a limited number of Washington supporters have offered to open their homes to those who cannot afford hotel stays).
If you are not contacted or if you have any additional questions or suggestions, please email counteveryvote08@gmail.com.
